We have an exciting opportunity for a senior risk specialist to join our team in Canada and the United States. We are open to employing individuals based in other global locations.

 

Your duties will include:

  • Provide advisory services at a senior engineer level in areas relating to marine and/or offshore process risk
  • Act in senior specialist capacity for delivery of risk/hazard assessment and consequence modelling services, including training junior engineers
  • Provide clear and concise communication with clients and internal/external stakeholders
  • Lead small- and large-scale proposal development for related studies
  • Manage projects in areas of specialization, delivering agreed upon project scope of work on time and on budget
  • Take responsibility for delivering on personal perforamcne goals and targets without supervision
  • Pursue Continuous Professional Development while maintaining a very high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. Take ownership for own development, seeking opportunities for self-development.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards

 

Key skill requirements:

  • Engineer with 10+ years’ experience working in the marine or offshore industry  
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a range of quantitative and qualitative risk analyses to marine/offshore clients (such as: HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, SIMOPS, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering consequence and system analysis studies such as gas dispersion, fire and explosion, spills, collision, and evacuation)
  • Experience performing risk-based design assessments
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects related to marine/offshore risk, including leading client-facing discussions
  • Deep understanding of relevant standards and regulations used in the marine and offshore industries that drive the requirement for risk based approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with multiple stakeholders to develop solutions that address client needs for risk studies to safely support non-standard operations

 

You will have:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Proficiency in another language such as French or Spanish will be considered an asset
  • Ability to travel nationally/internationally, including meeting entry requirements for client sites
  • Driver’s license
