Role Purpose:


The LRQA External Communications Manager role is focused on PR, crisis communications and the development of strategic content for global marketing campaigns. This role, based within a small and agile Brand and Communications team, interacts directly with the wider global marketing team, sales teams around the world and our global operations teams. 


In addition, you will lead the development of our content strategy and be involved in the shaping of our value propositions, messaging framework and channel and audience-specific content.


Key Responsibilities:



1. Update external communications strategy for the division in line with global marketing strategies

2. Develop messaging in line with brand values and marketing campaign strategies

3. Manage the global PR and media function, including press releases and materials to support global marketing campaigns

4. Build and manage sustainable relationships with journalists, media outlets and other stakeholders to deliver and realise marketing plans including delivery of brand, tone of voice and marcomms assets

5. Ensure the timely delivery of content to align with external campaigns, focused on digital content and channels 

6. Manage crisis communications

7. Liaise with senior stakeholders and translate strategies and ideas into meaningful content to drive brand awareness and lead generation


Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:


1. Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health

2. Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.


Technical/ Professional Qualifications/ Requirements


1. Degree or business qualification

2. A minimum of five years’ experience in marketing, with at least two of those in a management or senior role

3. An understanding of and expertise in digital marketing communications strategy and proven expertise in digital marketing delivery in relation to both campaign and content

4. Global media experience and contacts across a wide variety of sectors

5. Excellent written and spoken English. Fluent in at least one other key LR language (French, Spanish, German, Mandarin or Japanese), preferable, not mandatory

6. Spokesperson for the brand, both proactively in promoting our services and reactively in the event of a crisis

7. Demonstrable experience and expertise of online media distribution and monitoring tools to include experience in measurement and tactics to demonstrate ROI to internal stakeholders

8. Experience in delivering account based marketing campaigns and using market intelligence to create content that resonates with target audience

9. An understanding of the buying cycle and buyer personas to ensure the delivery of timely and relevant content
