Role Purpose:

 

To lead, develop and coach surveyors within a defined region and assist the Region Operations Manager with daily service delivery activities.  To contribute day to day specialist knowledge within their discipline and to assess complex problems for external and internal clients to determine a range of alternative solutions to maximise opportunities for business growth and development with existing clients, and improve LR’s competitive position

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • To deputise for the Region Operations Manager where required, ensuring the necessary responsibilities are adhered to
  • Lead surveys on specific high risk activities within their discipline and experience/knowledge.
  • To lead/mentor/coach team members, as appropriate, to build capacity, capability and support networks to effectively leverage knowledge transfer and application. This includes site visits to team members
  • Conduct survey activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards
  • To conduct relevant survey activities, providing advice and alternative solutions for service delivery within areas of experience, adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements
  • To produce the deliverable to the agreed schedule, budget and quality levels within an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employee’s work as necessary
  • To discuss and present the deliverables with internal / external clients at a senior level and suggest solutions where necessary
  • Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures
  • To make recommendations based on internal / external client feedback to assist in process improvement, service delivery and to help build the business
  • To promote pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness
  • To provide support / advice within area of specialist knowledge to internal / external clients
  • assess/ recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure and within the commercial aspects of the contract

 

  • contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LR relationships
  • undertake and maintain agreed authorisations both personal as well of those of his team.Follow-up on training plans, perform activity montoring, perform or have performed document monitoring (certification review) and update LREM

 

Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements:

 

 

  • Shall possess a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised university.  An additional higher degree e.g. Master's may be preferred in some regions
  • Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body.
  • Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application. Likely to have 6-10 years relevant working experience
  • To be addressed within authorisations framework. Will be unsupervised for some authorisations
  • Able to lead by example in delivering excellent client service and install the same values within the team
  • Customer focused with the ability to build sustainable, operational and commercial relationships.
  • Experienced in leading and managing an operations team in areas including recruitment, resourcing, performance, development and capability
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and results orientated approach with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • An assertive approach to problem solving with strong communication and diplomacy skills to guide, negotiate influence and persuade at all levels
