Overview of Position:


As part of the development of our growth strategy in Mexico, LRQA is looking for an experienced ASME Inspector with a valid National Board Card to be base in Monterrey area. This role has been created to provide a technical focal point for all ASME Inspection activites at LRQA Mexico, reporting to the Operations Manager – Inspection Services Norht America. The role requires a strong pressurized equipment technical background and sound market knowledge to support LRQA staff and our customers.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver the ASME Inspection services as per LRQA procedures and best practices.
  • Support the Sales teams to help develop the ASME Inspection business, market and services.
  • Participate on ASME technical network to support surveyors and the business to drive technical performance and customer responsiveness.
  • Keeps track of lessons learned from investigations and shares those lessons with TQG team members and service/ sales delivery teams.
  • To pursue Continuing Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventive action as necessary and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.


Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:


  • Educated to a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree level and equivalent to a Chartered Engineer (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)
  • ASME Inspector with a valid National Board Card
  • Sound knowledge in materials, welding and NDT techniques
  • To assess the design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets, against agreed codes, standards, specifications, procedures, by using experience and knowledge appropriate for routine situations;

  • To perform assessments and provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements;

  • To produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in a defined format;

  • Good communication skills and fluent in English are essential and, mentor other surveyors within LRQA and represent the business to clients and on technical committees
  • Available to travel to perform surveys/inspections
  • Base location is flexible
