Role summary

 

Support the Group Finance Director to ensure that group and subsidiary accounts comply with relevant financial reporting standards and legislation, are filed on time and that the process to prepare them is sufficiently robust.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of group and group companies’ financial statements.

Management and co-ordination of group and subsidiary audits.

Managing overseas entities and related compliance.

Development and management of group financial accounting team.

Development and maintenance of group balance sheet reconciliation process.

Provide technical guidance and lead the accounting for corporate simplifications and group reorganisations.

Develop and maintain the controls around inter group transaction processing and elimination.

 

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

Qualified accountant with demonstrable up to date knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.

Experience of the close process at a group level for an international business.

Significant hands on experience of ERP and MIS systems.

Ability to explain complex accounting & financial standards and the implications of their application, simply and concisely.

An enthusiastic and committed team player who can establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and across the Finance teams.

Adopts a solution-based approach at all times and is able to take the initiative and responsibility for completing tasks.

Excellent planning and organisational skills, attention to detail and a track record of meeting deadlines.

 

Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:

Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.

Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.
