Our Drilling Integrity Services team (Formally known as ModuSpec & West Engineering) require a Lead Specialist to provide technical leadership and solutions to support the Drilling Integrity Group including the technical support of proposals, the provision of detailed work instructions and support for field surveyors and support for the reporting / deliverables function.

 

The Drilling Integrity Services team is the global leader for independent technical assurance and advisory services to the drilling industry. For over thirty years, our expertise has been integral to reducing operational risk, improving operational performance and meeting compliance in the drilling industry through execution of Rig Intake Services. Our client base includes oil & gas operators, drilling contractors and other industry and regulatory bodies.

 

Primary Role Function

  • Prepare technical proposals.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Prepare service execution packages Drilling System (DS) projects.
  • Conduct technical review of deliverable reports.
  • Provide technical support to the field surveyor group.
  • Provide technical support to clients.
  • Provide technical support to other LR service delivery groups

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To contribute specialist multi-disciplined knowledge in the technical support of the Drilling Integrity team and/or lead in projects which provide commercially focussed support and/or service delivery to internal and/or external clients.
  • To  provide specialist Technical advice/solution and training to internal/external clients, research or development work within the Drilling Integrity Group including budget and contractual requirements.
  • To technically support the Drilling Integrity product portfolio within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review another employee’s work as appropriate.
  • To pursue Continuing Personal Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • To assess, recommend and endorse the scope, cost, time, resources and value of the work to be undertaken for an internal/external client meeting contractual and project requirements.
  • To discuss/ present reports and deliverables with both internal/external clients up to a senior level and  suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Undertake administration as required in line with current Drilling Integrity processes and procedures.
  • To implement improvements in service delivery and to help build the business based on internal/external client feedback.
  • To technically develop other employees, as appropriate and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • To ensure that activities are conducted in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • To provide specialist support/advice and resolve technical queries associated with Drilling Integrity products to internal/external clients.
  • Manage work within the Drilling Integrity discipline and ensure it is in accordance with management system requirements, cost structures and budgetary/contractual requirements.

 

Technical / Professional Qualifications

 
  • Shall possess a relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent. 
  • Likely to be Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent.
  • Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience as a technical leader to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application.
  • To be addressed within authorisations framework, likely to be unsupervised for all relevant authorisations.
