Reporting into the Smart Assurance Tool Product Owner, the Product Analyst will support the Product Owner in ensuring that the products and services meet the needs of our customers and colleagues. The Product Analyst will work with the Product Owner and SMEs to gain and maintain a solid understanding of as-is business processes, pain-points and then develop customer/colleague-driven to-be processes that address those pain points. On that basis the Product Analyst will support the Product Owner in the development of non-implementation specific epics, user stories and acceptance criteria. This should also include non-functional requirements, like for example performance KPIs.


Beside this the Product Analyst will support the Product Owner in maintaining a prioritized backlog that ensures work focuses backlog items that provide maximum value and are aligned with product strategy, defined by the Product Manager.


The role will require a good understanding of the business and technical landscape, liaising with customers and colleagues to gather requirements and with our development & support partners to ensure the acceptance criteria is met.



  • Understand customers & colleagues as-is workflows and pain points and work with Product Owner and SMEs to develop to-be workflows that address the pain points and delight our customers and colleagues.
  • Development of non-implementation specific epics, user stories and related acceptance criteria.
  • Provide user stories to multi-disciplinary teams and ensure they are understood by the stakeholders, e.g. the different DevOps teams, including 3rd party delivery partners.
  • Support the Product Owner in maintaining a prioritized backlog that ensures work focuses backlog items that provide maximum value and are aligned with product strategy, using Agile practices.
  • Support Agile practices and encourage the improvement of the product/platform.
  • Able to effectively work on Agile Principles (e.g. Scrum) within the Product Team.
  • Participate in various Agile ceremonies e.g. Release Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospective, Sprint Review, Daily Stand-up
  • Actively monitor the product capabilities and work closely with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to ensure that product is delivering a good service.
  • Actively engage with the business stakeholders to seek new improvement opportunities and bring efficiencies to the current working processes to ensure that the capability remains consistent and fit for purpose with the changing business demand.
  • Work with QA to conduct Quality assurance reviews of all implemented changes including traceability to requirements. This can include the definition of test cases before the actual development actual starts (BDD).
  • Work closely with other Product Owners and the Group IS community to keep abreast of changes, issues, workarounds, planned releases and to be able to communicate and interact with the user community
  • Ensure that managers and stakeholders are kept informed about all relevant issues including performance reviews and areas including testing, changes, making recommendations for improvements and are communicated effectively across the globe.
  • Provide support when needed, for the successful adoption of product capabilities
  • Support continuous improvement through feedback on existing processes, and proactively proposing process and template improvements.
  • Be an effective ambassador of Group IS and ensure the ‘team player ethos’ and high integrity to ensure the LR Group succeeds
  • Responsible for ensuring change control and change management procedures are followed within the Product team as they relate to requirements


To be considered

At least 2 years’ experience in gathering and documenting requirements using Agile methodologies that are then used to produce functional capabilities.

  • Experience in supporting system and process change, supporting the development of risk mitigation activities and supporting the building of technology readiness
  • A sound approach to problem solving and evidence of systems thinking with good communication and diplomacy skills to guide and persuade at all levels to help others across a variety of cultures to move towards common goals and vision
  • Ability to critically question to help the team foresee the future problems
  • Excellent communications and influencing styles, both written (clear and concise) and verbal (simple that translates easily), English is essential
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels and with a variety of stakeholders including senior managers and influencers
  • Experience in requirement elicitation & techniques such as informal modelling, use cases, user stories.
  • Team player and able to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively with global and remote teams being able to travel when required to meet area requirements as well as working with different time zones occasionally adapting working hours to other areas’ time zones.
  • Degree or business qualification and experience of working with integrated application environment in a DevOps framework is desirable.
  • Must be able to travel regionally (e.g. between Southampton and London) and occasionally overseas as needed.
