What we’re looking for 

 

We are currently seeking for a candidate who can provide technical leadership within the areas of expertise for the Process, Piping, and Mechanical engineering (PPM) discipline of the LR Offshore Technical Support Offie. Specific technical responsibilities also to include detailed design review of associated design documents of Mechanical Engineering deliverables of LR clients in the marine & offshore industry, including either of Pressure Systems, Piping, or Rotating Equipment and Machinery systems, against LR Rules and other applicable references including applicable recognised international Codes and Standards.

The Role :

 

To contribute specialist knowledge within their discipline and/or lead in projects which provide commercially focussed support and/or service delivery to internal and/or external clients.
To perform complex assessments, provide specialist advice/solution and training to internal/external clients, research or development work within agreed parameters including budget and contractual requirements.
To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employee’s work as appropriate.
To pursue Continuing Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
To assess, recommend and endorse the scope, cost, time, resources and value of the work to be undertaken for an internal/external client meeting contractual and project requirements.
To discuss/ present the deliverable with the internal/external client up to senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
To implement improvements in service delivery and to help build the business based on internal/external client feedback.
To technically develop other employees, as appropriate and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
To ensure that activities are conducted in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
To provide specialist support/advice and resolve technical queries within a discipline to internal/external clients.
To manage work within a discipline and ensure it is in accordance with management system requirements, cost structures and budgetary/contractual requirements.

 

What you bring 

 

Shall possess a relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent in one of the Mechanical engineering areas.  An additional higher tertiary degree e.g. Masters will be preferred.
Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or equivalent, or working towards achieving the status.
Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience as a technical leader in areas of Offshore Mechanical engineering design to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application.
Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
Demonstrable understanding of the Project Management process, gained through experience and training.
Strong technical background in Rotating Equipment / Machinery engineering design will be a plus.
