You’ve laid the foundations. Now reach higher.

If you’ve worked on large, infrastructure, capital, or civil projects, you have plenty of experience following construction industry regulations and legislation. Now, this is your chance to use that experience to help set standards instead. It’s an influential job with an organisation that’s renowned for making the world a safer place.

LRQA is on a mission to become the leading digitally enabled assurance provider in its markets, partnering with customers across key sectors, geographies and segments as they navigate a changing risk landscape. We do this by:

  • Ensuring our products, services and platforms answer our customers’ needs and help them to manage risk
  • Investing in and delivering deep technical, cybersecurity and other functional expertise
  • Making it easier for customers to do business with us through the digital transformation of our systems and services

Embracing different perspectives and investing in the development of our people, to attract and retain talented, productive and engaged colleagues.

LRQA currently operates as the business assurance and inspection services division of Lloyd’s Register, but in October 2021 we will become an independent business, branded LRQA, under new ownership of Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

About the role

We are an organisation with decades of experience of helping the construction industry to embrace innovative methods and safely build the next generation of structures.

As one of our Lead Auditors, you’ll influence safety, quality and environmental performance across a wide range of significant, complex national infrastructure and capital projects, through the delivery of management system audits.

Essentially, the job is to undertake audits and make important certification decisions against internationally recognised management system standards, whether working independently or through your team. Of course, that can’t happen in a vacuum. It’s essential that you and your team cultivate positive relationships with clients and work collaboratively to add value. They’re depending on your clear communication and auditing expertise to keep projects progressing.

What you can add

The men and women who join us as auditors come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Some have worked as site managers or in QHSE (Health & Safety) related roles. Others have come via an engineering pathway. A management systems background is always a plus.

It’s likely you’re degree qualified (or have equivalent experience) but above all you need to have first-hand experience of large, infrastructure, capital, or civil projects and a detailed understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory framework including one, or more, of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

You’ll need versatile communication skills too – whether that’s to build and manage positive client relationships or to make sure you deliver clear audit outcomes.

Many of our existing auditors love the work-life balance the role allows. It’s home based, travelling frequently to sites across your region. There’s plenty of support from head office and every opportunity to develop your skills, at a pace that suits you.

Why join

Our people love working for an independent organisation with a strong purpose – one that’s guided by principles not profits.

In a fast-moving world, our customers trust us to provide precise advice and cutting-edge technology. The scale of our business and depth of our expertise creates experiences you simply won’t find anywhere else.  Our top-ten customers turn over a collective £300 billion pa – how’s that for responsibility?
