The role of the Microsoft Platform Technical Lead is to actively supervise and coordinate the support and management of Microsoft 365 productivity and collaboration systems throughout their lifecycle from implementation to decommission.  You will also have the opportunity to continue to develop advanced Power Platform applications and components that can be reused by the organisation and provide best practice applications and templates for the business to use.

 

You will contribute to the development of standards and best practice to support quality in delivery as well as lead on implementation of agreed Development and Governance standards.

You will also contribute to the wider Digital Platform Development Community working with LR Group, citizen developers across LR and other platform subject matter experts.

 

The Key activities include:  Being an application/system owner for multiple critical applications/systems, understand how each application/system has been designed, implemented and configured ranging from the technical layer through to how it supports the business process.  Actively manage the appropriate support teams ensuring SLAs are met, customer experiences are acceptable and be an escalation point for the business and the support teams.

 

You will be involved in the support and coaching of the M365 Productivity team, helping build their expertise in the M365 Power Platform, Teams and SharePoint to enable them to contribute to the organisation’s digitalisation agenda.

 

The Microsoft Platform Technical Lead will directly supervise a colleague who is responsible for helpdesk ticket resolution and service requests.  You will provide day to day guidance, mentoring, enable career direction and growth and complete the required

 

The role holder is expected to partner with our outsource providers where required ensuring escalations are managed, work requests are submitted and estimates are accurate and tracked against budget.

 

Your duties will include

  • Implement, maintain and support the Microsoft 365 platform, Teams, Power BI and Sharepoint that power productivity tools and data analytics within LR.  Have deep knowledge of the assigned technology and how it enables business processes.
  • Coach and support a team of SME’s that look after the supporting services for each platform including Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams and Power BI and act as an escalation point for any support or development issues.
  • Work with vendors to ensure that new features and functionality are understood and maintain product roadmaps and work to align these with the technology roadmap
  • Being an agent for change, embrace new technologies and help the business to understand how these may impact on our customers and our business.
  • Work with the relevant teams to ensure that the architecture and security of the platforms meets requirements and allows for a fast pace of change and implementation.
  • Be a key contributor to the demand management process to ensure that the platforms are ready to scale, and resources are available for new demand.
  • Eliminate or minimise employee's exposure to risks by reviewing, regularly, the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LR activities.
  • Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventive action as necessary and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.

 

To be considered

  • Demonstratable experience of supporting critical business systems in an IT/IS function
  • Expert in the Microsoft ecosystem including M365 and Power Platform, Sharepoint and DevOps
  • Proven track record in developing, leading the implementation, supporting and configuring new business solutions using M365, Teams, SharePoint and associated Microsoft tooling
  • Proven track record in supporting and configuring new features and updates in M365, SharePoint and associated Microsoft tooling
  • Ability and proven track record to build relationships and alliances and communicate engage and influence in a
  • matrix structure with multiple stakeholders within and outside the organisation
  • Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution and work effectively within a matrix organisation
  • Result driven, analytical and innovative individual with the ability to decipher business requirements and convert them effectively into new technology solutions
