As a core member of the Group Business Change Portfolio, reporting to the Portfolio Planning Manager/PMO Lead, the Senior Portfolio Analyst will be accountable for a range of key PMO activities and deliverables to enable sound governance, management and insightful analysis of all programmes and projects within the portfolio.

 

The Senior Portfolio Analyst opportunity is a fixed term contract for 12 months

 

You will

  • Support the development and implementation of the Portfolio Demand process to facilitate the review, analysis, prioritisation and mobilisation of projects and programmes ensuring alignment with LR's strategic objectives
  • Identify best practice and improve the project management framework and Centre of Excellence by developing processes and tools to support LR's continuous improvement objective
  • Develop portfolio reporting, dashboards and insights
  • Develop and implement an integrated portfolio plan and roadmap of key milestones across the programmes/projects
  • Provide financial tracking expertise to the portfolio, working in partnership with Project/Programme Managers and the Finance Team to track programme and project finances
  • Develop and implement the Portfolio Benefits Management Strategy
  • Provide capacity planning expertise and resource tracking service across the portfolio
  • Manage and track the holistic view of project/programme outcomes and benefits, working in partnership with the Programme/Project Managers and Finance
  • Identify and monitor portfolio risks and issues ensuring that the agreed mitigating actions and responses are planned, owned and closed out appropriately
  • Develop and implement performance monitoring framework, setting up, developing and maintaining portfolio metrics and KPIs
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio and programme (inter)dependency register
  • Set up and manage configuration management and document tracking across the portfolio
  • Support governance/portfolio meetings by collating and preparing meeting packs and presentations
  • Support the implementation of Programme/Project governance standards and ways of working across LR’s Change Portfolio
  • Ensure the timely delivery of Programme and Project reporting to the agreed cycle
  • Provide quality assurance, ensuring compliance with standards/good practice, coordinating quality assurance reviews of portfolio documentation and deliverables

 

To be considered

  • Experience of working in an Enterprise/Organisation Portfolio Office
  • Experience of Portfolio, Programme and Project Management processes, industry best practice and tools
  • Experience of managing portfolio demand process and prioritisation models
  • Ability to produce and present complex information and developing and managing portfolio performance reporting
  • Recognised PMO related qualifications
  • Experience of applying portfolio management techniques
  • Strong PMO related finance and resource management
  • Demonstrable analytical ability to understand business drivers and strategic goals
  • Proven stakeholder influencing skills and ability to work collaboratively at all levels within an organisation
  • Strong, logical and analytical thinking when solving problems, with high levels of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate in a complex and diverse stakeholder environment
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplined environment
  • Ability to explain complex or technical issues clearly, accurately and simply
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite more predominantly MS Project, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experienced with programme and project management approaches, tools and lifecycle phases (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, SDLC, DevOps etc)
  • Organised with the ability to plan forwards whilst identifying problems and proposing solutions for consideration
  • Ability to work through ambiguous situations and comfortable operating in setup phases
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
