Role Purpose

Working as part of the Solution Architecture team within IS Strategy and Architecture, the Senior Solution Architect is responsible for creating deliverables to support the successful implementation of technology-based solutions that meet the needs of business stakeholders.

 

Your duties include

  • Understand business drivers and business capabilities (current & future state), and determine corresponding system designs and change requirements to achieve business outcomes.
  • Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on LR’s business strategy, capabilities and requirements.
  • Work with partners and vendors to ensure detailed designs and implementations are aligned with the overall Enterprise Architecture.
  • Understand how technology trends and the practical application of existing, and emerging technologies can evolve business and operating models.
  • Establish, advocate and embed the principles of information technology strategies.
  • Analyse the technology industry, competitors and market trends and determine their potential impact on LR.
  • Define the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure initiatives are aligned with LR’s target architecture vision
  • Design and direct the governance activities associated with ensuring solutions architecture assurance and compliance.
  • Ensure all solution architecture design and analysis work is documented.
  • Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software products and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations
  • Ensure initiatives fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
  • Engage closely with the program management office (PMO) to ensure the execution of products and projects corresponds with what is being promised

 

To be considered

  • Experience of design and implementation experience in IT, with a deep knowledge in a minimum of two of the following technical disciplines: infrastructure and network design, application development, application programming interfaces (APIs), middleware, servers and storage, database management, and operations
  • Have exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments with a good understanding of strategic (e.g. Azure, AWS, Office 365 & Windows 10) and new and emerging technology trends, and their practical application.
  • Be results-oriented and customer-focused, able to demonstrate good inter-personal skills at all levels of contact and in a wide variety of situations, able to communicate and influence at all levels and in a globally diverse business.
  • Be educated to bachelor degree level or related study or equivalent experience.
