Role Overview

To assess the design / production / in-service aspects of engineering assets, using procedures, experience and knowledge appropriate for complex / demanding situations. The role may also include managing projects.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Perform surveys in accordance with Lloyd's Register Rules and Regulations and other applicable standards
  2. Deal with statutory surveys and certification and where applicable liaise with Flag or Port State Surveyors
  3. Ensure reporting in accordance with corporate requirements and timescales to achieve targets set for key performance indicators
  4. Discuss and present deliverables with the external client including the recommendation of alternative solutions where appropriate
  5. Assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertake for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure
  6. Manage business queries and build relationships with internal and external clients, as appropriate, to resolve service problems and build the business
  7. Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal/external client feedback as appropriate and liaising with counterparts to ensure consistency in development and delivery of services and application of best practices
  8. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards
  9. Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness
  10. Participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed
     

Successful candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor degree from a recognised institution in Engineering (i.e. Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering)
  • A strong understanding of Marine & Offshore business gained through a minimum of 8 years of experience in Marine Engineering or Inspection
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Proven experience managing clients
  • Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of the SD Plan
  • Strong team spirit and cooperation skills to promote a team working environment across the SD function as well as with other functions and business streams
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and implement change
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt responsibilities and to take on new challenges as the business develops
