Lloyd’s Register is a leading international provider of classification, compliance and consultancy services to the marine and offshore industries, helping our clients design, construct and operate their assets to the highest levels of safety and performance. Wholly owned by the LR foundation we offer you an opportunity to contribute to engineering a safer world. Our customers trust us to provide precise advice and cutting-edge technology – they have done for 250 years. The scale of our business and depth of our expertise creates experiences you simply won’t find anywhere else.

You’ll join Lloyd’s Register’s Naval Centre of Expertise (NCOE) who play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of serving defence personnel, by providing assurance services and technical support to help deliver and keep the Navy’s warships, Auxiliary ships and Submarines available for operations. In the UK, we work at key sites in Bristol, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Barrow in Furness, Rosyth and Glasgow delivering safety assurance and technical support services for new and existing platforms. This involves hands on design assessment and survey work assessing compliance and asset condition to make sure that navies in the UK and around the world can confidently and safely undertake their critical role.

As a business, we want to recruit a graduate engineer to expand and grow our team, to support a growing and exciting programme of work on submarines, frigates and unmanned systems. If you have a degree in electrical, mechanical, safety or systems engineering or naval architecture, are recently graduated or in your first role in industry, we would like to talk to you.

This role provides an opportunity to develop skills and experience within in the Naval Maritime industry with placements during the first two years which provide exposure to the variety of work LR is engaged in. You will be provided with experience of the full range of engineering activities undertaken by LR and after a general two year period of on the job training you will develop a specialisation to progress to chartered status. Mentoring and support will be provided by the LR team and also through the Naval Engineering Science and Technology NEST future engineer network.

Together we are one Lloyd's Register, committed to developing an inclusive and safe workplace that embraces and celebrates diversity. We strive to ensure that all applicants to LR experience equality of opportunity and fair treatment, because we believe it is the right thing to do. We hope you do too.
