Lloyd’s Register Apave Limited was incorporated in 2010.  We are wholly owned by Lloyd’s Register, a UK company dedicated to providing safety assessment and asset assurance services on land, at sea and in the air, owned by a Charitable foundation, Lloyd’s Register was formed in 1760; and Apave Sudeurope, a French company founded in 1867 providing safety assessment and asset assurance services on land.  Lloyd’s Register Apave Limited is focussed on inspection, assurance and training services to the nuclear industry.  In the UK this activity is concentrating on the UK Nuclear New Build by NNB Generation Company at Hinkley Point in Somerset and Sizewell in Suffolk.


Role purpose:


The role will review, converge and approve manufacturing documentation and information for the high integrity mechanical components being procured for the UK EPR®   The successful individual will attend meetings, both physically and web-based..  The role will contribute to the relationship between Lloyd’s Register Apave and NNB Generation Company (for HPC & SZC) being beneficial to both parties.  T

The role includes technical review and elements of client and stakeholder relationship management.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Review manufacturing documentation to specification and internal guidance
  • Maintain and develop relationships at peer level within the client
  • Update the LRA service delivery team ensuring communication and understanding of progress and opportunities
  • Represent Lloyd’s Register Apave at external meetings as required




Key Requirements:

  • Excellent communicator in English
  • A science or engineering degree
  • Membership of an appropriate engineering institution
  • Knowledge of nuclear design codes
  • Experience of document review and approval
  • Ability to communicate in French would be an advantage



The successful applicants will be based in our facility in Bristol, UK operating from client offices and our UK offices as required.  Some short business travel in the UK and Europe maybe required.
