What we’re looking for
- LR Technology Development Centre in Global Technical Support Office is looking for an ambitious Senior / Lead Specialist for future fuel technologies to join our dedicated development centre, based in Busan, South Korea.

The role
- Evolve our Rules and Regulation to embrace future fuel technology and decarbonization.
- Be the trusted future fuel technologies and decarbonization expert and the right channels to the internal/external clients
- Be representative of future fuel technologies of Global TSO and work with LR global team to provide consistent and differentiated technical services
- Monitor and catch-up decarbonization tends e.g. novel alternative fuels and system engineering and share the observation with the internal/external clients
- Initial review of new designs in accordance with Lloyd's Register Rules and Regulations and other applicable standards
- Ensure reporting in accordance with corporate requirements and timescales to achieve targets set for key performance indicators
- Discuss and present deliverables with the external client including the recommendation of alternative solutions where appropriate
- Assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertake for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure
- Manage business queries and build relationships with internal and external clients, as appropriate, to resolve service problems and build the business
- Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal/external client feedback as appropriate and liaising with counterparts to ensure consistency in development and delivery of services and application of best practices
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards
- Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness
- Support the internal/external clients by providing technical advice, guidance and direction
- Identify the internal/external clients demand to co-create solutions and develop the Rule and Regulation with LR global resources
- Participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed.
What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in Engineering (ie. Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering)
- A strong understanding of Marine & Offshore business gained through a minimum of 10 years of experience in related Marine Engineering and Decarbonization Technology
- In-depth knowledge of codes, standards and regulations in Engineering and Decarbonization matters
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Decarbonization trends e.g. novel alternative fuels, system engineering.
- Strong technical background and expertise of decarbonization area including designing and managing projects to ensure consistency of interpretation and application to service delivery process
- Strong team spirit and cooperation skills to promote a team working environment across the technology development function as well as with other functions and business streams.
- Proven ability to effectively manage and implement change.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt responsibilities and to take on new challenges as the business develops.
