What we’re looking for
As a Lead Consultant, you will work closely with the Global Head, Energy Transition Advisory to develop innovative advisory solutions to complex business challenges faced by clients across the shipping and energy value chain, and undertake wider marketing activities, including business travel within the local region. You will focus on solving complex business challenges regarding maritime decarbonisation, the energy transition, and digital transformation. Additionally, you will develop client relationships, lead engagements on these topics, and take responsibility for promoting the Advisory team within the local market. This includes fostering relationships with key stakeholders such as ship owners, charterers, and shipyards, while working collaboratively with maritime sales and operations teams. The role encompasses both macro-level analysis as part of strategy development work and micro-level analysis related to specific operational engagements.
The Role
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with the maritime and sales teams to promote LR’s Advisory capabilities and develop large-scale consultancy projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the development, management, and delivery of large consultancy projects, including planning and facilitating workshops, translating conclusions into actionable recommendations, and designing and implementing organisational change programmes in decarbonisation transition pathways and digital transformation.
- Leading advisory engagements with clients
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions to research and analysis challenges and suggesting alternative solutions where appropriate.
- Providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer to other employees.
- Producing required inputs within agreed parameters, including contract terms and conditions.
- Pursuing continuous professional development to maintain high discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
- Assisting the management team in developing the business to meet future demands and improve LR’s competitive position.
- Providing on-the-ground support for large consulting engagements, including direct client interaction.
- Undertaking administrative tasks in line with current processes and procedures.
- Communicating client feedback to improve service delivery.
- Mentoring and coaching team members to build capacity and support networks.
- Managing and developing the team, including recruitment, performance management, talent planning, and training to sustain a high-performance culture.
- Driving employee engagement to ensure team members understand and are committed to business and strategic objectives.
- Delivering work scopes for clients, supporting proposal development, and driving internal best practices.
- Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Acting as a point of contact for client management to effectively manage client and LR relationships.
- Ensuring findings are communicated in an accessible and visually appealing manner.
Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Minimizing employee exposure to risks by regularly reviewing the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, and ensuring health and safety considerations in all LR activities.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems, and legal requirements, and providing adequate resources for safe work practices.
- Monitoring and reviewing health and safety performance, observing safety behaviours, and implementing corrective and preventative actions as necessary.
What you bring
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent. Master’s in Business Management or equivalent
- Experience working in well-known Consulting firms are preferred
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and translate these insights into clear reports
- Demonstratable good awareness of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application.
- In depth relevant working experience and consulting experience are preferred
- Strong knowledge and experience in business analyst
- Highly effective written/verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels
- Experience of working across global teams and cultures
- Proficiency in English language with excellent writing skills.
