We are expanding our presence in the Americas and hiring an Asset Integrity Consultant to support our growth and expansion plans in Calgary. Based in our Calgary office, the role will report into one of the Team Leads of the Asset Integrity and Maintenance Optimization team.  

 

The main purpose of the role will be to:  

  • To perform assessments, provide specialist advice/solution and training to internal/external clients, undertake research or development work within agreed parameters including budget and contractual requirements.
  • To produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in a defined format including contract terms and conditions.
  • To pursue Continuing Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • To assess/recommend scope, cost, time, resources of the work to be undertaken for an internal/external client meeting contractual/project requirements.
  • To discuss/present the deliverable with internal/external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Undertake administration as required in line with the current processes and procedures.
  • To assist improvement in service delivery by communicating internal/external client feedback as appropriate.
  • To give technical guidance to other employees, as appropriate and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • To contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LR relationships.
  • To contribute with other engineering departments (like corrosion), to complete projects successfully.
  • Carry out other duties are requested by Supervisor/designate.  

 

Technical and professional qualifications/requirements: 

  • Shall possess a relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Preferably a qualified member of a recognized professional body as the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or other relevant organization.
  • Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application. Likely to have 10-15 years relevant working experience.
  • Technically competent on Asset Integrity local, national and international requirements
  • Valid certifications issued by recognized regulatory entities are a plus (API, NACE, National Board, ABSA, etc.).
  • Relevant Technical in Mechanical integrity or Risk based Software Basic Training
  • Familiar with the following standards (certification in any or multiple is a plus): API 510, 570, 530, 571 579, 580, 581; ASTM Vol II, V, VIII, IX;B31.1,B31.1,B31.8, CSA, API 1104, ABSA, National board, NACE.
  • Microsoft Office Proficient
  • Experience with RBI software such as RBMI is an asset
  • Familiarity with energy industry equipment and basic operating functions
  • Basic Understanding of inspection and NDE methods/techniques
  • Use knowledge of inspection methods to assesses inspection effectiveness, summarizes and records past inspection and failure history for energy industry equipment
