Role purpose:
To give a high level of technical support within the Technical Performance and Investigations team gathering and analysing Flag and Port State Control data to meet business needs using own knowledge and experience gained in the role for routine situations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the reporting and analysis structure, processes, and procedures for recording Flag and Port State Control inspection data are effective and efficient and meet the current business demands
  • To ensure that PSC detention and inspection data is entered in LR systems and the monthly spreadsheets so that information is available for both internal and external users.
  • To ensure that TP&I investigations results are recorded and that action points identified have been evidenced and closed out in the required time scale.   
  • To monitor the tss-class@lr.org mailbox, distribute and action mail as necessary
  • To provide reports in PowerBI and Undertake routine administrative work as required in line with current processes and procedures.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.
  • Working towards or achieving charted or incorporated engineering status.
  • To work in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics in IMS01.
  • To use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
  • To be able to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services.
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work.
