We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Specialist in Noise and Vibration to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Specialist, you will lead and oversee projects related to noise and vibration assessments, monitoring, and mitigation. The main focus is the design of vessels for compliance with stringent requirements pertaining the environmental footprint both over and under water.

The role 

 

  • Lead and manage noise and vibration assessment projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Take leadership on the technical aspects of projects and delegate activities to younger engineers within the team.
  • Support business manager on the development and execution of new services within LR which often requires multidisciplinary interaction.
  • Conduct comprehensive noise and vibration surveys, measurements, and assessments using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
  • Analyse data and prepare detailed technical reports, including noise and vibration impact assessments, predictions, and mitigation recommendations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients, project teams, and stakeholders on noise and vibration control measures, regulatory compliance, and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements related to noise and vibration control from ships and marine traffic.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing, client meetings, and presentations.

 

 

What you bring 

 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in noise and vibration assessment, monitoring, and mitigation in the marine sector.
  • Strong knowledge of acoustics, vibration analysis, and related scientific principles.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard noise and vibration measurement equipment and software.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines related to noise and vibration control.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
