Join our expanding Service Delivery Team in Dalian and play a key role in delivering complex new construction projects within one of the world’s most dynamic shipbuilding markets.
This is an international opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile vessel construction projects, collaborating with leading shipyards, owners, and stakeholders across the maritime industry. You will gain valuable global exposure while contributing to technically challenging and commercially significant projects in a fast-growing region.
The Role
As a Surveyor / Senior Surveyor, you will help ensure new construction projects are delivered effectively by offering technical guidance, client assistance, and top-quality survey services. As part of this role, you will contribute to the timely delivery of new construction projects by providing technical skills, client support, and high-quality survey services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of new construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable classification rules and statutory requirements
- Conducting classification and statutory surveys for vessels under construction
- Acting as a trusted technical advisor to internal and external clients, presenting findings and recommending practical, commercially sound solutions
- Contributing to project planning by assessing scope, timelines, and cost considerations for client work
- Building and maintaining trusting client relationships through effective communication and high-quality service delivery
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely, with proactive risk assessment and timely reporting of incidents, near misses, and observations
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking professionals who are technically skilled, internationally minded, and motivated to grow within an evolving and collaborative environment.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognised institution in a relevant field (e.g. Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering)
- Solid understanding of vessel new construction, marine classification, and statutory surveys
- Experience in shipbuilding with a Classification Society, or as an owner’s representative
- Ability to apply both general and specialist engineering knowledge to existing and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated client focus with the ability to deliver practical, high-quality solutions
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work across diverse cultural and technical environments
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage tasks in an environment with changing priorities.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement and ongoing professional development
- Openness to new responsibilities, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- High level of awareness regarding health and safety practices, emphasizing prevention in risk management
