What we're looking for

 

As part of this role you will be working closely with experienced maritime professionals who will guide and integrate you into project team culture and the candidates shoudl be experienced in Marine Tourism as well as should have experience in site inspections. Also this role will be divided as below:

 

  • Office work: up to 60%
  • Field work: up to 40%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review of marinas, beaches, cruise terminals & related marine infrastructure to ensure compliance with relevant standard operating procedures and inspection checklist focused on assessment of environment, health, safety and risk parameters.
  • Conduct market research on best coastal tourism practices & yachting activities related to environment, health, safety & quality.
  • Conduct periodic monitoring of active operating job sites;
  • Prepare weekly & monthly field/project progress report to fulfil project KPIs
  • Assist project management team with preparation of standard operating procedures & checklist to conduct compliance, inspection and audit of marine facilities.
  • Engaging into consultation session with stakeholders to spread awareness on compliance, inspection and audit procedures
  • Interact with project personnel and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings; and
  • Understand and abide by the policies and procedures of local & national regulatory authorities outlined in the site-specific project plans.
  • Abide by Coastal tourism authorities’ Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures.

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, HSE, Quality Management and between 2-5 years of experience. (required)
  • Candidate with postgraduate degree or prior management consulting experience would be an advantage.
  • Communication skills in Arabic & English (required)
  • Demonstrate technical understanding of site investigation, quality assurance procedures, and/or engineering drawings, technical plans related to marinas, beaches, cruise terminals, marine structures etc. 
  • Ability to monitor several different types of inspection & audit activities simultaneously. (required)
  • Experience with Windows based software applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, MS project, etc.). (required)
  • Excellent writing skills and detail orientation. (required)
  • Strong willingness to work outdoors with interest in building a career in the engineering consulting field. (required)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic. (required)
