Role Purpose

The Business Data Specialist role is a member of the Digital Delivery team as part of the Technology and Innovation function and is responsible for managing the integrity, quality and accuracy of data within BAIS. This role will support the needs of the business to better manage their operational and client data as well as enabling the delivery of BI reporting in order to achieve better strategic and operational decision making.  

The Business Data Specialist will work within the Digital Delivery team using Agile principles and methodologies alongside other data specialists, as well as with the Digital Business Partner and the business to help them shape and manage the portfolio of reporting and data requirements. The role will focus on data quality, accuracy, optimisation and platform requirements to support the business and their clients.

In addition, this role will be active in supporting the overall data strategy in respect of data governance, data quality management and data warehousing.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for producing and maintaining data sources involving the use of ETL, Views, Stored procedures and Functions to support reporting systems and processes within BAIS. This includes ensuring compliance with LR’s group policies including GDPR.
  2. Is a subject matter expert and has a detailed understanding of, improves and documents, the data landscape and reporting systems within BAIS.
  3. Works and innovates with Data Specialist peers to understand and improve our internal systems and data processes with the goal of ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency with regards to the delivery and availability of data for operational and reporting requirements.
  4. Ensures the effective & timely management and closure of 2nd line data and reporting support requests, through the appropriate ticketing systems, to minimise impact on the operations of the wider business.
  5. Works with the relevant stakeholders across multiple systems and business functions to build business data & reporting capabilities
  6. Liaises with the Enablement Lead and relevant business teams to identify training requirements, system improvements or improved work processes to improve data adoption, understanding and reporting
  7. Liaises with the Configuration Specialists in the client configuration & Onboarding team, Technical Account Managers (TAM’s) & attend client meetings as required, to understand & address customer data requirements and/or concerns.
  8. Drive engagement with data and reporting in BAIS to ensure that all employees understand and are engaged with data accurately and securely in line with business and strategic objectives.
