Role Purpose:


This role is primarily responsible for ensuring the Customised Assurance business delivers and undertakes unaccredited audits to Hospitality & Retail ’own brand’ standards across the UK and Ireland with a specific emphasis on auditing within the retail and hospitality sector. You will deliver high quality assessments/audits and inspections that meet the needs of customers’ specific requirements in an efficient and professional manner.


Through providing effective management you will be responsible for:


  • Provide professional support to the Client Support and Business Support teams
  • To complete environmental audits (food safety, health and safety and fire safety audits) in accordance with legal and client driven requirements
  • To be fully utilised and cost efficient
  • To complete audit reports immediately after audit and at the latest 48 hours after site visit
  • Complete accident investigations as requested by the Business Support team or H&R Assessor Manager
  • To keep colleagues appraised of industry developments
  • Undertaking Duty Consultancy
  • Strategic Management support for Clients as required
  • Review of documents including FSMS, H&S & Training Policies
  • Shadow and Witness Audits of Auditors where technical support is given
  • To maintain CDP and take on additional training as required
  • Maintain a high level of IT skills in line with equipment and software used in the business



Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the effective onboarding of new Hospitality & Retail Associate assessors including overseeing the effective delivery of classroom, on-site and associated IT training; completion of timely and quality shadow and witness programmes; appropriate sign-off and approval process; and early stage performance tracking of service delivery
  • Working on the performance management ensuring that assessments are completed and reports submitted in line with the schedules agreed with the Operational Planning teams within Service Delivery Support, where the account is covered by you technically
  • Responsibility for developing, implementing and tracking of calibration processes ensuring you always undertake the work to the required quality standard, consistently and in a customer focussed manner
  • Responsibility for close liaison and communication with the assessment team to be aware of the requirements ensuring they undertake their work within the best practice health and safety guidelines that LR expects
  • Using insight from team performance to metrics make recommendations to the Senior Management and implement actions to improve our service and processes
  • Sharing knowledge and industry best practice with Service Delivery Assessor Manager colleagues to build and maintain service excellence
  • Understand the financial accountability for the cost-effective delivery of UK Hospitality & Retail assessment services through the close monitoring and control of relevant budgets including expenses
  • Engage with Hospitality & Retail customers as required and in association with Commercial and Account Management colleagues
  • Liaise with Ops/Allocations teams to assist and maximise the utilisation of the UK Hospitality & Retail Audit teams


Technical/Professional Qualification/Requirements:



  • Experience/awareness of the technical/quality standards within the Hospitality & Retail food space including hospitality and retail sectors
  • Experience of working with Hospitality & Retail standards from an auditor/management perspective within and across the food supply chain
  • Experienced in aligning the application of customers’ Hospitality & Retail standards to an assessment environment
  • Proven experience and knowledge of effective and timely management of budgets and financial processes including budget setting, prioritising, delegating and monitoring of resource and project activities
  • A collaborative approach to problem solving with strong communication and diplomacy skills to guide, negotiate, influence and persuade at all levels
  • Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution and work effectively within a matrix organisation
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong commercial awareness - in particular, analysis and interpretation of financial and non-financial information
  • Strategic thinking abilities with analytical skills. Able to articulate and communicate clear strategy, plans and performance reporting
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated individual with a “can do” attitude and the ability to work in a highly technical environment and under pressure
  • Good team player with the skills to work effectively in a global environment with colleagues of different cultures
