In Inspection Services, we certify safety critical industrial equipment according to recognised codes, standards & regulations. We also partner with companies to provide tailored high-quality inspection services throughout their manufacturing supply chains, making sure equipment is built safely & to their requirements.


This role will be responsible for supporting the key accounts delivery, thought leadership and sales activity within the Business Assurance – Agriculture business

You will:

  • Maintain an up to date and proactive knowledge of supply chain assurance practices and initiatives in the food sector, using this to provide input into the development of the Business Strategy.
  • Actively share global client knowledge and best practice across the LR group and ensure consistency in development and delivery of integrated services to support sales objectives and meet LR Group targets.
  • Support the development and execution of business development plans from lead identification through to sales activities and deal closure, with key account managers and other Commercial Team colleagues
  • Provide insight and analysis on key account data to help support growth plans, new sales initiatives and improved client service and satisfaction
  • Develop and lead the implementation of named key account strategies and action plans for chosen accounts, with support from sales, marketing and service delivery teams to effectively manage global clients.
  • Develop and enhance LR’s profile within the target markets through the strategic relationships and alliances with the relevant regulatory, industry and technical organisations. This includes representing LR as its industry expert at appropriate events, seminars, panels and forums
  • Provide top level technical account management support to agreed key accounts to help ensure KPI delivery and identification of further growth opportunities.
  • Initiate and actively participate in internal communications initiatives to promote knowledge management within the BD and Sales community. Examples of activities: developing case studies, arranging client referrals, conducting webinars or internal meetings to share knowledge with colleagues
  • Collaborate with Technical and Operations teams to ensure optimum delivery of LR services, monitor client satisfaction level and develop service recovery plans to achieve our desired client satisfaction level
  • Build and grow a strong relationship network with the LR BD and Sales community, within BA&IS as well as within other Business Streams in the LR Group.
  • Invite client feedback and build plans based on feedback to improve LR performance to meet area and global business plans.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, industry knowledge and awareness, undertaking coaching and mentoring activities to the sales and marketing teams as required.


You will need:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation preferred, but proven experience in agriculture supply assurance is required.
  • Significant experience of working within agriculture primary production and supply chain assurance, with experience of international standards and devolved supply chain assurance programmes.
  • Agriculture supply chain account management experience, with proven ability to deliver progressive strategies in support of client requirements
  • Understanding of market and client behaviours, and factors that affect them including; cultural awareness, market context, organisational structure, supply chain partners and policies.
  • Demonstrable ability to think strategically and operate within a broad context
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels – both inside our organisation and outside in the business.
  • Proven experience in providing thought leadership and a track record in representing a professional services organization through speaking appointments and white paper development
  • Examples of activity building market intelligence, analysing and segmenting markets and formulating business development and market penetration strategies and managing Key Accounts. At least 3 years of experience in a commercial position with proven track record
  • Ability and understanding to participate, communicate, positively contribute and add value in technical discussions with clients and LR colleagues.
  • Ability to understand and assess complex/unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.
  • Enjoyment of building relationships, with the ability to pro-actively drive development of a network of key relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong commercial awareness. Ability to support development of strategic action plans based on input from key people and information.
