What we're looking for

 

The consultant who will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, provide subject matter expertise, and develop sustainability strategies to achieve sustainable outcomes for clients across the maritime and associated industries. This role supports global clients in addressing challenges related to ESG and climate disclosures, environmental regulations, and sustainable design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated sustainability strategies and business solutions.

  • Develop sustainability KPIs, management plans, and strategies for planning and design projects, ensuring implementation throughout project lifecycles.
  • Formulate sustainability policies, standards, and guidelines for key clients at the organizational and portfolio levels.
  • Deliver sustainability/ESG programs through materiality assessments, benchmarking, gap analysis, stakeholder engagement, and KPI identification.
  • Lead high standards of sustainability performance across engineering and operational projects, influencing project design for optimal sustainability outcomes.
  • Manage technical and commercial aspects of bid development and service delivery by leveraging LR's global expertise.
  • Support operations transformations, operating model design, process optimization, and techno-commercial due diligence.
  • Conduct carbon accounting, GHG emissions assessments, and create Net Zero carbon roadmaps for portfolios.
  • Ensure compliance with sustainability frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, GRESB, ISSB) and advise on regulatory impacts.
  • Prepare sustainability reports in accordance with regulatory requirements and international best practices.
  • Develop business opportunities through proposal writing, opportunity identification, and thought leadership.
  • Gather data, conduct research, and provide well-written technical reports to clients.
  • Assess value propositions, deliver presentations, and recommend solutions to clients.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, reporting safety incidents, and working in accordance with risk assessments.

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a Master’s in Management or Sustainability.

  • 3+ years of experience in business, strategy, or sustainability consulting, preferably within maritime or associated sectors (e.g., shipping, ports, offshore).
  • Technical skills in carbon/GHG accounting, ESG reporting, Net Zero strategy development, and climate risk management.
  • Knowledge of sustainability policies, regulatory frameworks, and decarbonization strategies.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills in complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Proficiency in report writing, financial modeling, and analytical tools for operational and embodied carbon.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Business development experience with a focus on sustainability solutions.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and able to work independently or within a team across different locations.
  • Strong commitment to personal development and continuous learning.
  • Proficiency in English, with excellent verbal and written skills.
