What We're Looking For

An experienced Data Management Lead is needed to join Lloyd’s Register’s Data Team and contribute to improving enterprise data quality, governance, and essential data management functions.

This leadership role is accountable for managing data definitions, data quality, and enterprise-wide reference data practices. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, data specialists, and governance groups to make sure data is clear, trusted, and fit for its intended use across Lloyd’s Register.

This role is well suited to a data professional who brings solid technical and problem-solving skills, leadership ability, stakeholder collaboration, and a commitment to improving data management practices. You will have the opportunity to shape enterprise data standards, establish robust governance processes, and support strategic initiatives including the implementation of client master data capabilities and trusted data assets.

The Role
Key Responsibilities

Data Definition & Metadata Management

  • Own and maintain Lloyd’s Register’s Business Glossary, ensuring business terms and physical data fields are accurately defined and governed within Microsoft Purview.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Data Definition process.
  • Collaborate with Data Experts, Business Teams, and Technology Teams to capture and document critical business and technical metadata.
  • Ensure alignment between data definitions, application interfaces, reporting, analytics, and business processes.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to Data Governance stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and priorities.

Data Quality Management

  • Own and continuously enhance Lloyd’s Register’s Data Quality Framework.
  • Define, implement, and monitor data quality rules, controls, and standards.
  • Establish and maintain the enterprise Data Quality Issue Inventory as the central repository for data quality issues.Partner with Data Experts and Technology Teams to investigate, prioritize, and resolve high-priority data quality issues..
  • Develop and deliver data quality metrics, dashboards, and performance reporting for stakeholders and issue owners.Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability..

Master Data Management

  • Own and maintain Lloyd’s Register’s Master Data Control Framework.
  • Support the Client Data Programme by establishing trusted master data processes, governance controls, workflows, and approval mechanisms.
  • Define client data requirements across consuming applications and support implementation of data models within Salesforce.
  • Design and implement input controls that prevent data quality issues at source.
  • Define and govern client data update, merge, de-duplication, and retirement processes.
  • Establish and embed operational processes for capturing and maintaining client data.Identify root causes of client data issues and implement sustainable improvements..
  • Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to Data Governance forums and senior stakeholders.

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to Data Management Analysts.
  • Review and quality assure analysis outputs, data definitions, investigations, and remediation activities.Set priorities, allocate work effectively, and ensure effective delivery of team objectives..
  • Support capability development and continuous learning within the Data Team.Build a cooperative, results-driven culture that emphasizes data excellence..

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Act as a key point of contact for data management across the organization.Build good relationships with business, technology, and governance stakeholders..
  • Communicate complex data issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the adoption of data governance standards and best practices across Lloyd’s Register.Shape decisions by offering evidence-backed insights and recommendations..

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Lloyd’s Register health, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Support compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for improvement within data management processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice sharing across the organization.

What You Bring

Experience

  • Significant experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, Master Data Management, or related disciplinesProven experience leading or owning a business-critical data domain, such as Client or Customer Data.a.
  • Experience operating within complex, multi-system enterprise environments.
  • Experience working with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality processesExperience within regulated, compliance-focused, or risk-aware organizations.sDemonstrated experience leading teams, mentoring analysts, and implementing organizational change.e.

Data Management ExpertisSolid understanding of:f:

  • Data Quality dimensions, controls, and monitoring frameworks
  • Metadata Management and Data Definition practices
  • Business Glossaries and Data Catalogues
  • Master Data Management principles and lifecycle management
  • Data Governance frameworks and operating models
  • Data Quality issue management and remediation processes

Experience designing and implementing:

  • Data quality metrics and dashboards
  • Data quality controls and monitoring solutionDemonstrated data governance processeses
  • Data standards and business definitions
  • Analytical & Technical SkillSolid analytical capability with the ability to identify trends, risks, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Experience working with SQL and datasets to investigate and resolve data issues.
  • Ability to assess data flows across multiple systems, applications, and business processesFamiliarity with data governance and metadata management tools such as Microsoft Purview is highly valued. Experience working with Salesforce data models and client master data processes is highly valued. A solid understanding of reporting, analytics, and enterprise data management concepts.Solid stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.s.
