What we’re looking for
The Senior Consultant – General Business plays a leading role in delivering digital advisory and operational transformation engagements, helping clients across the maritime and asset-intensive sectors improve performance, enable digital change, and realise sustainable business value.
The role is primarily focused on Digital Advisory and Operational Excellence, including digital strategy, operating model transformation, process optimisation, and performance improvement. Strong grounding in finance and M&A is required to ensure that transformation recommendations are commercially sound, investment-aligned, and executable in transaction or post-transaction contexts.
The Senior Consultant is expected to lead defined workstreams, engage directly with client stakeholders, guide junior team members, and contribute actively to business development and capability building.

The role
Lead defined workstreams within advisory engagements, taking ownership for analysis, outputs, and delivery quality.
Engage directly with client stakeholders, building trusted relationships through structured thinking, clear communication, and professional delivery.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of client strategy, operating context, and change constraints.
Ensure advisory outputs are practical, implementable, and aligned to client value drivers.
Lead digital advisory engagements, including:
- Digital maturity and readiness assessments
- Digital strategy and roadmap definition
- Business-side system selection and solution evaluation
- Benefits identification, value tracking, and realisation planning
Translate digital opportunities into clear transformation initiatives, supported by robust business and value cases.
Work with internal digital and technical specialists to ensure alignment between business requirements and technology solutions.
Lead operational excellence and transformation initiatives, including:
- End-to-end process diagnostics and performance assessment
- Operating model, organisation, and governance design
- Cost, productivity, and efficiency improvement programmes
Identify root causes of performance gaps and develop prioritised improvement roadmaps.
Support implementation planning and change readiness, ensuring recommendations can be realistically executed.
Apply financial and commercial expertise to:
- Develop and review business cases and investment appraisals
- Assess commercial viability of digital and operational initiatives
- Support integration and operating model alignment in post-transaction contexts
Contribute to M&A-related engagements where required, including operational due diligence, synergy assessment, and integration planning.
Guide and coach junior consultants, providing direction, quality review, and on-the-job development.
Prepare and deliver high-quality client reports, presentations, and executive summaries.
Support proposal development, client discussions, and development of market offerings.
Contribute to internal knowledge assets, methodologies, and continuous improvement of advisory delivery.
Actively pursue professional development and stay current on industry, digital, and transformation trends.
What you bring
- Engineering or bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and an MBA / master’s in management.
- Typically, 10–12 years of relevant experience in management consulting, digital advisory, business transformation, or operational excellence roles.
- Proven experience delivering digital advisory or transformation engagements.
- Strong experience in operational excellence, operating model transformation, or large-scale performance improvement initiatives.
- Solid financial and commercial acumen, including business case development and investment evaluation.
- Exposure to M&A, integration, or transaction environments is desirable.
- Prior experience in maritime, shipping, offshore, energy, or asset-intensive industries is highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
- Strong, structured problem-solving and analytical capability.
- Ability to independently frame complex transformation challenges.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior client engagement.
- Strong report writing, presentation development, and data storytelling capability.
- Ability to lead workstreams, manage priorities, and deliver to time, cost, and quality expectations.
- Commercial mindset with a focus on value realisation.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and client focus.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Willingness to travel and work from client or LR offices as required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with digital operating models, enterprise systems, or analytics platforms.
- Certification or practical experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Prior exposure to marine operations, ship management, or maritime advisory.
- Experience supporting or leading transformation programmes.
