What we’re looking for
The Senior Consultant – Operational Excellence & Digital Advisory is responsible for leading end‑to‑end advisory projects delivering digital advisory and operational transformation outcomes for clients. The role focuses on shaping, managing, and delivering projects that improve performance, enable digital change, and drive sustainable business outcomes.
The role is centred on Digital Advisory and Operational Excellence, including digital strategy, operating model transformation, process optimisation, and performance improvement. The emphasis is on owning delivery from project initiation through to completion, ensuring outcomes are practical, implementable, and value‑driven.
The Senior Consultant is expected to lead projects, manage client relationships day‑to‑day, provide direction to junior consultants, and contribute to the growth and maturity of the advisory practice.

The role
Project leadership and client delivery
- Lead end‑to‑end advisory projects, taking full accountability for scope, delivery quality, timelines, and outcomes.
- Act as the primary day‑to‑day point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships through structured thinking, clear communication, and professional delivery.
- Plan and manage project activities, resources, and priorities to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop a strong understanding of client strategy, operating context, and change constraints.
- Ensure project outputs are practical, implementable, and aligned to agreed objectives.
Digital advisory
- Lead digital advisory projects, including:
- Digital maturity and readiness assessments
- Digital strategy and transformation roadmap definition
- Business‑side system selection and solution evaluation
- Benefits identification and outcome tracking
- Translate digital opportunities into clear, actionable transformation initiatives.
- Work closely with internal digital and technical specialists to ensure alignment between business needs and technology solutions.
Operational excellence and transformation
- Lead operational excellence and transformation projects, including:
- End‑to‑end process diagnostics and performance assessment
- Operating model, organisation, and governance design
- Cost, productivity, and efficiency improvement initiatives
- Identify root causes of performance gaps and develop prioritised, outcome‑focused improvement roadmaps.
- Support implementation planning and change readiness to enable successful execution.
Leadership and practice contribution
- Provide guidance and on‑the‑job coaching to junior consultants, including task direction and quality review.
- Prepare and deliver high‑quality client reports, presentations, and executive summaries.
- Support proposal development and client discussions.
- Contribute to internal knowledge assets, methodologies, and continuous improvement of advisory delivery.
- Actively pursue professional development and stay current on digital, operational, and transformation trends.
What you bring:
Qualifications and experience
- Engineering or bachelor’s degree from a recognised university; a postgraduate qualification in management is desirable.
- Typically 10–12 years of relevant experience in management consulting, digital advisory, business transformation, or operational excellence roles.
- Proven experience leading consulting or advisory projects.
- Strong experience in operational excellence, operating model transformation, or large‑scale performance improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in the shipping or maritime sector, including work with ship owners, operators, ship managers, ports, terminals, or maritime service providers.
- Practical understanding of maritime operating environments, constraints, and stakeholder complexity.
- Experience working in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
Skills and competencies
- Strong, structured problem‑solving and analytical capability.
- Ability to independently shape and lead complex transformation engagements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior client interaction.
- Strong report writing, presentation development, and data storytelling capability.
- Proven ability to manage projects, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
- Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on practical implementation.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and client focus.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Willingness to travel and work from client or Lloyd’s Register offices as required.
Preferred skills
- Experience with digital operating models, enterprise systems, or analytics platforms.
- Certification or practical experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience supporting or leading transformation programmes.
