Lloyd's Register is looking to recruit a Subsea Equipment Engineer to join our Global Subsea and Wellheads Team. This team has extensive expertise and a proven track record of providing independent assurance for the design and operational aspects of subsea equipment including trees, wellheads, connectors, and pressure-containing components, as well as subsea pipeline systems, umbilicals, and cables.

At Lloyd’s Register, we cover a broad range of engineering aspects within the subsea sector, with particular emphasis on subsea equipment design, qualification, manufacturing processes, and global system integration. The Role:

 

We are looking for a skilled and motivated engineer with knowledge of subsea equipment design who can interface effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to challenging and cutting-edge projects while developing expertise in areas such as rigid pipeline design, umbilicals, and cables.

The role will include the appraisal of subsea equipment design methodologies, qualification programs and project specific designs. As such the successful candidate will require strong analytical skills, a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and specialist knowledge in the design and analysis of subsea equipment.

The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to appraise subsea solutions, ensuring they meet industry standards and operational requirements.

In addition to being a strong team player who demonstrates integrity and professionalism at all times, the following attributes would be ideal for this role:

Specialist knowledge in the design of subsea equipment, particularly subsea trees, wellheads, connectors, and pressure-containing systems.

Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices related to subsea engineering.

 

What you bring

 

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English, with the ability to prepare, discuss, and present technical deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

The following attributes would also be beneficial for the successful candidate:

Experience with design assurance and appraisal would be an advantage.

Familiarity with rigid pipeline design, umbilicals, or subsea cable systems.

Project management and cross-disciplinary coordination skills.

Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards chartered status.
