About the role:

You will assess complex structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions where previous experience does not provide any precedent. You will perform complex structural assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.

 

You will also generate new business through engagement with new and current clients, determining the time/value of the work to be undertaken.  You will have responsibility to manage projects and project teams keeping within the negotiated deliverables and schedule.

 

You will have experience in a number of the following ATG’s service offerings domains:

 

•Structural analysis of naval ships/subs, tankers, bulk carriers, passenger ships, icebreakers, and offshore structures

•Finite element analysis - linear, nonlinear, dynamic, impact, blast, thermal, seismic

•UNDEX, whipping, fluid-structure-interaction

•Fatigue and fracture

•Offshore structures: in-place, transportation and lift, accidental (snag) and impact, on-bottom stability, foundations

•Naval Architecture, Naval and Class Rules, LR ShipRight SDA and FDA, Life Extension

•SIAS – Ship Inspection and Assessment Services

 

You will have:

•Proficiency in speaking and writing English

•10 years of experience in engineering analysis

•Bachelors or higher in Naval Architecture, Civil or Mechanical Engineering

•Eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia (EIT or P.Eng)

•It is a condition of employment that you must be eligible to apply for a Canadian Security Clearance to level SECRET within the first week of hire.

•Must have a valid driver’s license

•Must have the ability to travel nationally and internationally

•Above average technical writing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
