Marine Surveyor 

Location:  Halifax, Canada

We are looking for a meticulous Naval Surveyor to join our team. In this dynamic role, you'll inspect and evaluate ships, ensuring they meet international safety and quality standards.

What we’re looking for 

A Naval Surveyor who supports our Team with your engineering expertise. You will be part of a team of passionate technicians, independently visiting sites, inspecting vessels in-service, and examining equipment & components for the marine industry.

The role 

• Performing classification and statutory surveys onboard or in the shipyards for existing and new building ships
• Carry out reporting in an accurate and timely manner and ensure that the reporting is both technically and legally correct.
• Offer extensive advice, and applicable consultancy in areas of the modern marine industry
• Continue your professional development and maintain discipline, knowledge, and awareness, and mentor or coach colleagues as appropriate.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

  What you bring 

• A degree in the field of marine engineering or naval architecture.
• Working experience from classification, shipping companies, or shipbuilding industry will be an advantage
• An awareness of the marine business environment in the onboard work as well as developing existing business and reaching for new opportunities.
• A good knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written). Knowledge in French is merited.
• To be IT literate with good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package.
