Offshore Business Development Manager

Location:  Houston, Texas - Hybrid

A senior sales professional with experience in the offshore oil and gas industry who can attain new business, by growing sales pipeline and pro-actively negotiate with the customer to order close-out. Primary focus will be to build relationships with stakeholders delivering offshore capital expenditure projects while delivering the assigned sales targets.

The role 

  • Develop and maintain account plans that optimize the margin performance and growth potential across different LR products and service solutions
  • Keep the customer engaged through regular account meetings and act as a consultant in order to provide tailored solutions to their needs while upselling and cross selling on opportunities
  • Organize frequent executive level meetings with specified clients ensuring strategic relationships are maintained between LR’s senior management and the client’s senior management 
  • Act as bid leader by ensuring all large bids have assigned and defined roles and responsibilities by the opportunity capture team
  • Ensure proposals and quotes are produced to expand LRs existing revenue, market share and maintain client relationship
  • Deliver financial and operational performance against budget targets in line with the commercial financial plan
  • Regularly analyze and report expected sales performance based on sales pipeline, individual win rates, market trends, forecasts and competitor activity captured in SalesForce 
  • Maintain understanding of industry trends, technical developments and competitors' activities and competitive offers in targeted markets
  • Share details of client meetings with relevant internal shareholders, promptly facilitate resolution of complaints and disseminate lessons learned in line with BMS and SLAs
  • Track account revenue, margins, sales performance and oversee contract management to secure contract renewals

   

  What you bring 

  • A degree in business, engineering or maritime is preferred
  • Ten or more years of related account management experience in the maritime and shipping industry in lieu of a degree
  • Thorough understanding of the offshore energy environment to manage commercial focus and find new business opportunities
  • Significant offshore energy experience in the sales and account management environment with an in-depth understanding of sales principles
  • Strong commercial awareness and acumen with the ability to develop strategic action plans based on input from key persons and reliably negotiate contracts
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary planning, business planning, reporting and management
  • Strong team spirit, excellent professional people skills, and enjoyment of building relationships with the ability to pro-actively drive development of a network of key relationships both internally and externally
