Hull Structures - Senior Specialist

What we’re looking for 

A senior Hull Structures specialist to join the Technology Development Centre (TDC) within the Global Technical Support Office (GTSO), a key function supporting Lloyd’s Register’s technology development. The position calls for a Naval Architect with a deep understanding of hull structures and demonstrated experience in structural analysis, supporting the development, maintenance, and improvement of LR rules and procedures

 The role  

• Develop and enhance LR Rules and Regulations for hull structures and structural analyses considering advanced technologies and clients’ feedback in accordance with LR standards.
• Participate in projects as a global technical specialist and support internal and external stakeholders through seminars and business support
• Develop and maintain LR products as part of technology portfolio.
• Be the trusted expert and the right channels to the internal/external clients
• Monitor and catch-up technical trends with clients’ feedback and share the observation with the internal/external clients
• Manage business queries and build relationships with internal and external clients, as appropriate, to resolve service problems and build the business
• Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness
• Participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed.

What you bring 

• A bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering
• A deep understanding of the marine and offshore sector, developed over at least 10 years of experience
• In-depth knowledge of LR Rules and procedure including Common Structural Rules (CSR) application
• Clear communication skills and a cooperative mindset, with experience working effectively across international teams and varied functions
• Demonstrated capability to manage and implement change, along with ability to adjust responsibilities as business needs evolve
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
