What we’re looking for 

 

  • To contribute day-to-day specialist knowledge within their discipline and / or lead in projects which provide commercially focused support and / or service delivery to internal and / or external clients.
  • To determine solutions for problems, within their discipline, where the parameters are not well defined and where previous experience does not provide any precedent.
  • The role focuses on managing TSO aspects of Marine New Construction projects and coordinating TSO resource to offer technical support to external and internal client.

The role 

 

To take the role of design leads for Marine New Construction Projects in line with the responsibilities assigned by LR policies for the role and in particular:

1)    To effectively manage cost time and quality of the assigned New Construction Projects, in line with contractual requirements (e. g. schedule & milestones, hours actuals vs budget, projects manpower, management of variations from baseline and work scope)
2)    To lead and support TSO Project Team during the overall project duration.
3)    To build relationship and communicate effectively with external clients.
To liaise with Site Team and Site Project Manager in order to work as one project team to achieve the LR KPIs objectives of customer experience, maintain projects objectives, and clearance for class.
Work in conjunction with Technical Discipline team to ensure consistent New Construction TSO service delivery across each Technical Discipline.

Interface with CCO organization to co-ordinate technical sales support, bids/quotations for complex or novel solutions or for key strategically important clients for New Construction Portfolios
To monitor developments in the industry and Lloyd’s Register’s competitive positioning with respective to New Construction Service Portfolio and ensure the important market intelligence is escalated to senior management
To assess / recommend the time / value of the work to be undertaken for an internal / external client within an agreed fee / cost structure.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
To mentor / coach other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
To make recommendations based on internal / external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
To provide specialist support / advice within a discipline to internal / external clients.
To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employee’s work as appropriate.
To discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client up to senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.

 

 

What you bring 

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized institution within a relevant field such as Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Technical/ Practical Experience in the field (minimum 3 years) 
  • The ability to use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology
  • To be able to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services
  • To be a good team player with the ability to take own initiative to meet business and personal objectives
  • Fluency in the Turkish and English language, both written and spoken, with ability to communicate effectively internally and externally. Any other language capability would be an advantage.
