The Role

The purpose of the role is to develop sales and marketing in all market segments with a specific focus on New Construction and Marine operations. The role shall contribute proactively in developing the sales strategy, make effective sales plans and ensure implementation.

 

As a frontline ambassador for Lloyd’s Register, our Account Managers are tasked with representing the entire company – our name, brand and technical expertise. Typically with quick thinking, personable and credible personalities, they dig deep into the Marine & Offshore sector in order to identify new markets and customer opportunities and anticipate where in the current market they will arise.

 

Our sales teams never settle for delivering targets when they can be exceeded, and we have global reach. If you share this attitude and can demonstrate a deep understanding of the ‘global customer’ - our territories can include up to 10 countries – then we have the scope to ensure you can reach your goals.

 

You will:

  • Develop, maintain and own customer relationship across all hierarchy levels of assigned clients
  • Identify sales opportunities for Lloyd's Register's product & solution portfolio to increase the "share of wallet"
  • Actively develop account and business plans to optimise sales and business performance
  • Be the ambassador of clients' interests and expectations in Lloyd's Register to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Collaborate with strong cross area and cross stream communication within Lloyd's Register to fully utilize sales potential
  • Represent Lloyd's Register during local industry events 
  • Manage a group of accounts to achieve the margin and market share growth of the Marine and Offshore business, in line with the Area Long Range Plan
  • Act as the main point of contact for the assigned group of accounts, focussing on the customer experience to enhance loyalty and build long-term relationships.
  • Deliver the assigned sales, revenue, margin and cash targets.

 

You will need:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.
  • Significant experience in Account management field, preferably in Marine & Offshore Classification environment with an in depth understanding of sales and client care principles.
  • Strong commercial awareness. Ability to develop strategic action plans based on input from key persons.
  • Strong knowledge of financial, budgetary planning, business planning, reporting and management.
  • Strong team spirit. Excellent professional people skills to improve performance across the area of business.
  • Thorough understanding of the shipping market and marine environment to manage commercial focus and find new business opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels – both inside our organisation and outside in the business.
  • Ability and understanding to participate, communicate, positively contribute and add value in marine & offshore supply chain and technical discussions with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.
  • Enjoyment of building relationships, with the ability to pro-actively drive development of a network of key relationships internally and externally.
  • Flexible approach to adjust role as the position develops.
  • Proficiency in the Norwegian and English languages is required.  Danish or Swedish may be acceptable in place of Norwegian.
