The Internal Communications Manager is part of a flexible team of internal comms professionals, working on internal communication initiatives to support the delivery of LR’s business strategy.

 

The role will work across LR’s service lines to deliver outcomes aligned with business value and create tailored and targeted communications that help colleagues across different areas and roles understand the part they play in LR’s strategy.

 

The IC Manager will work closely with the leadership team and key stakeholders in the projects and programmes under their responsibility. They will have full accountability for the design and delivery of engaging communications campaigns for change and transformation initiatives that support the delivery of strategic business outcomes and inspire involvement and action from LR’s global workforce.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the key business stakeholders to design and deliver communications campaigns to meet business objectives and align with the wider internal comms strategy.
  • Work as part of an agile team of IC professionals on cross business projects to support the overall Communication of LR’s strategy.
  • Co-ordinate IC activities with the external communications and marketing team to maintain a consistent message to all stakeholders.
  • Design and delivery live business broadcasts with the leadership team to global audiences, taking full responsibility for the content creation and logistics.
  • Lead internal communications for strategic change projects, ensuring alignment with other LR programmes, to support the delivery of key business outcomes.
  • Create engaging content (news stories, leader messages, videos etc) and ensure all messages are clear, consistent and easy for colleagues to understand.
  • Coordinate activities with other IC Managers, HR and Legal to ensure communications are aligned and messaging is consistent and compliant with regulation.
  • Build relationships and trust with senior leaders and provide communications best-practice coaching, advice and support.
  • Identify and design appropriate content for different target audiences, ensuring that “WIIFM” is clear at every level and every intervention is fit for purpose and aligned to business strategy.
  • Ensure that communication is measured, impact evaluated and continuous improvement is built in.
  • Manage external supplier relationships and act as a central point of coordination for internal communications projects.
  • Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness of best practice. Implement this ensuring that LR internal communications demonstrate best industry practice.
  • Mentor/coach other employees to improve general IC capability at LR, including regular ‘IC clinics’.

 

 

To be considered

  • Degree level education with an appropriate post-graduate or professional qualification.
  • Significant experience in an internal communications role
  • A proven track record in developing and implementing an internal communications strategy and managing change.
  • Excellent writer across a variety of channels. Able to flex style and tone
  • Excellent spoken communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines / prioritise workload.
  • A strong team player who is able to win consensus.
  • Specific knowledge and experience of online and offline communications techniques.
  • Experience creating and publishing content in SharePoint and using other Microsoft O365 tools, such as Teams,  Forms and Stream.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a virtual team spread across the UK.
  • The ideal candidate will have previously worked a senior internal communications role within a global organisation of more than 2000 employees and will have experienced a matrix management structure.
