This role will be based in Northern Ireland with the occasional requirement to attend clients and meetings in other parts of UK and the Republic of Ireland.

The role 

  • Performing surveys on new construction projects, in-service vessels and several Marine Equipment and Components at Manufacturers works, in accordance with Lloyd's Register Rules and Regulations and other applicable national & International standards.
  • To discuss and present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest solutions where appropriate.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. Ensure that the appropriate technical competencies are gained and are kept up to date.
  • Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.

 

What you bring 

  • A degree or equivalent from a recognised organisation within the relevant field of engineering or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience.
  • Must have experience in Metallurgy and or Welding Inspection.
  • Must have experience in interpretation of engineering drawings.  
  • Must have experience of Non-Destructive examination.
  • Familiar with National and international Quality standards.
  • Full / Clean UK Driving Licence
  • Holds UK Security clearance or eligible for UK Security Clearance. 
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution or working towards or achieving charted or incorporated engineering status.
  • To work in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics.
  • To use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
