Senior Consultant, Advisory Delivery (Generalist)
Lloyd’s Register
Location: Miami, Florida, USA

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a structured, consulting-trained professional to join our Americas Business Advisory team in Miami, delivering high-quality advisory support across maritime, ports, energy, sustainability, and broader ocean-economy engagements.

This is a client-facing consulting delivery role suited to a generalist who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys structured problem-solving, and takes ownership of workstreams end-to-end. You will work directly with clients and senior advisors to frame problems, conduct analysis, and deliver executive-ready outputs that drive informed decision-making.

The role includes regular in-person engagement at local and regional client sites (typically weekly, depending on engagement needs), balanced with flexibility to work remotely outside of client days.

This is a consulting-first role rather than a technical engineering position. You will collaborate closely with technical specialists while owning the consulting craft: structure, synthesis, communication, and disciplined delivery.

What We Offer You

The opportunity to work for an organisation with a strong sense of purpose, driven by values and committed to helping colleagues develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programmes.

You will gain early and meaningful client exposure, own advisory workstreams, and contribute to high-impact projects connected to global trade, infrastructure resilience, and the energy transition. You will operate within a flexible working model — in-person when it matters, remote when it does not — while building your consulting capabilities within a globally respected organisation.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

Consulting Delivery & Problem Solving

  • Own discrete workstreams within advisory engagements, delivering high-quality analysis and synthesis with limited supervision.

  • Translate ambiguous client questions into structured problem statements, hypotheses, and actionable recommendations.

  • Conduct desktop research, document reviews, stakeholder interviews, and structured analysis to generate insights.

  • Operate effectively in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities and tight timelines.

Analysis & Insight Development

  • Build Excel-based analyses to support business cases, scenario modelling, benchmarking, and operational insights.

  • Develop structured analytical frameworks to evaluate strategic, operational, and financial questions.

  • Synthesize complex information into clear, decision-oriented insights for senior stakeholders.

Client-Ready Communication

  • Build executive-level PowerPoint presentations with clear storylines, structured messaging, and professional exhibits.

  • Communicate concisely and confidently in client meetings, summarising discussions and driving clarity on next steps.

  • Produce clear and accurate meeting notes capturing decisions, actions, owners, and deadlines.

Project Execution & Ways of Working

  • Develop and manage workplans, timelines, and action trackers to maintain delivery discipline.

  • Maintain high standards of consulting hygiene, including documentation, version control, and traceability of assumptions.

  • Support proposal development and contribute to reusable advisory tools, templates, and methodologies.

Client Engagement & Workshops

  • Support and progressively lead in-person client meetings and workshops, including agenda development and output synthesis.

  • Build credibility and trust with client stakeholders through professionalism, reliability, and structured communication.

  • Act as a connective layer between technical specialists and client leadership, translating complex content into strategic implications.

Key Health & Safety Responsibilities

Eliminate or minimise employee exposure to risks by regularly reviewing the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment, and ensuring health and safety is considered in planning and execution of all LR activities.

Manage your own and your team’s compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems, and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.

Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, and take appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary, suggesting and implementing improvement activities.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in management consulting, advisory services, or a comparable client-facing role.

  • Demonstrated experience owning workstreams and delivering executive-ready outputs with limited supervision.

  • Experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with senior stakeholders.

Core Skills

  • Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to independently create structured, executive-ready presentations.

  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with structured analysis and modelling.

  • Clear, structured written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organised, disciplined, and able to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership in client-facing environments.

Location & Travel

  • Willingness and ability to be Miami-based and travel regularly to local and regional client sites (typically weekly, depending on engagement needs).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

Nice-to-Have

  • Exposure to maritime, ports, energy, infrastructure, or sustainability-related advisory work.

  • Experience supporting or leading client workshops.

  • Familiarity with consulting tools such as ThinkCell.

  • Experience in a seller-doer or proposal-support environment.
