Marine Engineer - Business Advisory Analyst (Strategy & Commercial Operations)

As part of this team, you will provide support to customers in the Maritime industry and associated industries globally in their efforts to make the right decisions to achieve profitable and sustainable results. Business Advisory combines deep domain expertise with an understanding of the industry and its stakeholders to assist customers tackle the transformations in the industry and ensure safe, digital and sustainable solutions.

We deliver deep strategic, technical, commercial and operational insights to help clients think through investment/divestment decisions about businesses. We advise our clients on critical operational and transformational challenges, and evaluate business plans and company strategies against market performance and competitor strength, to deliver a rigorous appraisal of a business’ commercial and operational outlook.

The role

  • Assist and participate in projects focusing on operations transformation, efficiency improvement, operating model design, business-side support of system implementations etc
  • Work across investment value chain with specific focus on Techno-commercial due diligence, Process optimization and Supply chain.
  • Manage technical and commercial aspects of bid development and project delivery while drawing in expertise from our global LR group.
  • Support business development with opportunity identification, proposal development and thought leadership.
  • Gather data and research information from a range of sources to provide clear, well-written technical reports.
  • Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard and review the work of others, on time and to budget.
  • Conducting complex analysis on excel and developing financial model
  • Researching, aggregating and analysing data; synthesizing large quantities of information; extracting meaningful insights to provide recommendations to our clients
  • To discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
  • To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate.

 

What you bring 

  • Minimum Engineering/bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognized university and Masters in Management is considered an asset.
  • Technical skills to include one or more: CDDs, M&A/Investment experience, Market/Feasibility assessment, Corporate strategy, etc
  • Previous experience within Maritime is highly preferred.
  • Excellent command (written and oral) in English language using relevant professional terminology.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft products including excel, word and power point.
  • Ability to plan, handle effectively multiple priorities and drive high quality results
  • Communicate in a structured way and ability to present ideas and concepts effectively to internal and external stakeholders across levels
  • Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Drive for results, solution focused thinking and is keen to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs.
  • Demonstrate initiative and proactiveness and has flexibility adjusting your approach when necessary.
  • Have good planning and process management skills (scopes the length and difficulty of tasks; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into process steps)
  • Have perseverance in the face of obstacles and demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Display a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment and ability to work both independently and as part of a team with colleagues in person and around the world.
  • Are customer focused and driven to achieve excellent customer service.
