What we’re looking for
We are seeking individuals who can effectively appraise stability, load line, and tonnage design aspects in accordance with relevant international standards. We seek candidates who possess the necessary procedures, experience, and knowledge to conduct thorough design appraisals for new building, conversion, and existing vessels. Additionally, we value individuals who can provide technical support to designers and operators of ships and other marine platforms.

The role
- Perform accurate tonnage calculations, loadline assignments, and intact & damage stability assessments for the approval of new construction, existing ships in service, and conversions.
- Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to loading computer and ballast water treatment matters.
- Cultivate and uphold strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Engage in technical discussions, offering expert advice and guidance to both internal and external clients.
- Present and discuss deliverables with internal and external clients, while suggesting appropriate solutions as necessary.
- Adhere to internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards in all conducted activities.
What you bring
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Ship Design/Shipbuilding, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications. Chartered/Professional qualifications and membership in a relevant professional institution are highly desirable.
- Relevant experience in intact and damage stability calculations, gained from working in shipyards, classification societies, ship owners, consulting firms, or similar roles. Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, and IMO Statutory Regulations is essential. Candidates with less experience may be considered for lower-level positions.
- Proficiency in NAPA software, matching the requirements of the role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Naval Architecture, with a specific emphasis on stability, tonnage, and loadline.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Excellent prioritization skills to meet deadlines set by Lloyd's Register and clients, even under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to conduct technical discussions with clients and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, corresponding to the demands of the position, and a demonstration of effective interpersonal skills.
