What we’re looking for
We are looking for an individual who manages low complexity projects to average complexity projects or a work package of a more complex project. Acts as single point of contact for clients to effectively manage client and LR relationship. Supports the management of a high or average complexity project. May be involved in single projects or a programme/ portfolio of projects for one or more client contracts. Brings in a strong technical understanding and is able to perform inspections / verifications for internal/external clients, where the parameters are defined, and the work is within the contract SOW.

The role
Key responsibilities:
- Managing single / multiple projects aligned with LR Commercial Bid Notice.
- Preparing deliverables within the agreed parameters in a defined format & within an agreed timescale.
- Working technically by performing structural inspections and verification on- and offshore at offshore platforms and other facilities.
- Delivering services to internal/external clients in accordance with internal processes/ procedures (e.g. PMF, BMS, BYD/CIT etc.).
- Preparation & presentation of project reports as required, ensuring good quality of work & aligned to the KPI’s and agreed processes.
- Coordination of both technical and related project specific activities in line with LR processes.
- Support and assist the Proposals & Bid Management team and or Senior Project Manager with all aspects of the bid and tender development process. Ensure all bid support activities are completed in time to meet the submission deadlines.
- Undertaking resource allocation & planning, organisation & management as necessary in relation to assigned projects.
- Monitoring the budget and overall service delivery for all aspects of the assigned projects through the planning, cost, time and quality control processes, including regular project / contract reviews, invoicing, project reporting and close out.
- Supporting CRS, VR and other LR deliverables development & audit processes. Co-ordinates Comment Response Sheets (CRS), Visit Report(s) or equivalent, DAD(s)/ LR letter(s) or any other defined deliverables and carries out reviews as necessary before issuing out to Clients.
- Understands the LR contract risk & issue management procedures. Ensures this is applied and uses the project RAID register for all projects. Risks/ issues are escalated to the appropriate project governance level / line manager for timely action as necessary.
Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
- Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager/ GPT Safety Representative.
- Safety Leadership – ensure understanding of LR’s Safety culture, policy and procedures and promotes LR’s Safety culture and ensures project activities and those working on the projects are always aligned with LR safety guidance/ rules/ policy and any concerns are raised with GPT Safety Representative/ Line Manager / LR Safety Manager.
What you bring
- Degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Technical Project Management or Science subject.
- Experience in large scale industrial projects preferrable offshore wind or maritime business
- 3 to 5 years’ experience of project management protocols ideally working as part of project teams.
- Awareness and application of project management tools (APM, Prince2 etc.) and processes whilst adhering to legal and commercial requirements.
- Fluency in German, both spoken and written, sufficient to produce technical documentation.
- Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work.
You are someone who:
- Is adaptable and well organised with a practical minded approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Takes ownership of work assigned and completes to the expected level of Quality.
- Possesses good communication skills, including technical report writing, having the ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines.
- Has proven experience and knowledge of structures in marine environment.
- Uses a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
- Is able to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services.
- Has good influencing and motivational skills demonstrated through advice, counsel or facilitating services to others.
