Auditor - Marine Management System

Rotterdam / Full-Time / Hybrid Role

You have onboard experience in a leadership role – Master, C/O or Senior Engineer. Or you’ve worked in ship management ashore. Either way, your maritime background is the key to the next step in your career.

At LR, we set the standards for marine management systems with our client base. The seafaring professionals who join us bring a unique and valuable perspective which enriches our knowledge of the business and service delivery work - you’ll draw on your experience and our reputation to take on audit projects, performing audits and acting as the interface between the technology, management systems and the people who use it every day. We’ll give you all the training and development you need to enhance your people, management and technical skills, and support you to become an expert in this field of work.

What you’ll do

  • This is equally a ‘people role’ and a technical one.
  • As well as carrying out management system audits covering ISM, ISPS, MLC and also ISO standards,
  • you’ll explain regulations to customers and support them with implementation.
  • You’ll review reports and actions from colleagues, and support colleagues in relation to management system audits,
  • you are Rotterdam based but at times will audit ships and clients across North Europe.
  • Ship owners and managers will also see you as a focal point, and you’ll give instruction and presentations in management and safety systems.

What you’ll need

  • Your experience and people skills already make you stand out. Beyond that,
  • we’ll look for a degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by LR or qualifications from a Marine or Nautical Institute with appropriate sea time in a senior rank.
  • You’ll have a shipping background ashore or afloat,
  • you’ll be as happy to work independently as you are when you’re part of a team.
  • Skilled in Dutch and English, and proficient with IT,
  • you’ll have an approach that’s flexible, analytical and responsible.

You’ll be valued for your experience wherever you go — but nowhere more so than right here. Whether you want linear career moves or a sidestep into different maritime specialisms, LR can provide that on a global level. Finally, what makes working here truly special is our purpose; because all our profits support the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, every individual is contributing towards making the world a safer place, and that feels good.

Benefits:

  • Weekly Hours - 40h / Monday to Friday
  • Holiday entitlement - 31 Days
  • Bonus
  • Company Car
  • Company Credit Card
  • Company Mobile Phone
  • Pension scheme
  • Personal development
  • Local perks
