What we’re looking for 
We are looking for an engineer field surveyor to provide service to shipbuilders, ship owners and manufacturers. 

The purpose of this role is to Survey marine engineering, piping and electrical & control designs for new construction and marine components. This in accordance with the applicable international standards and class rules set. While using procedures, experience, and knowledge appropriate for the design for the above-mentioned aspects, and to provide technical support to our clients.

The successful candidate would be based at the LR Rotterdam Office, Netherlands. Dependant on individual circumstances, consideration may be given to alternative working locations in the Netherlands.

The role 

  • The candidate should have a degree in Marine Engineering, or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience working as an marine engineer, sea going experience and /or experience in application of Class Rules for ships is advantageous.
  • Could work both independently and as part of a team, to prioritise work and meet LR and Clients’ deadlines, and to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in the English Language (written and oral) commensurate with the work and an ability to write detailed technical reports and design appraisal documents. Proficiency in the Dutch language is adventageous
  • It is preferable that the individual should understand the responsibilities of a Classification Society, and the interface between Class Rules and Statutory Regulations.

What you bring
