Role Summary:

As an expert in project management, you will help shape and deliver large and complex projects from inception to closure. You will collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels to meet quality standards and offer an outstanding customer experience. Aware of your position as an ambassador for Lloyd’s Register, you’ll use smart, commercial strategies to grow our services, improve our business and profit margins and perpetuate our world-class reputation as experts in the provision of high quality, technically excellent solutions. Responsible for customer care across you would select few of valuable and important relationships.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality projects on time and according to budget- at all times.
  • Take a strategic overview of each project in order to realise benefits and opportunities and reduce risk.
  • Be accountable for how each project performs; defining, measuring and achieving KPIs.
  • Thoroughly document the project throughout and prepare relevant reports for different audiences.
  • Answer customers’ technical queries and support the development of a knowledge database.
  • Understand customers’ business cycle and needs.
  • Support the preparation of customer surveys and resolve disputes.
  • Manage opportunities to develop business and improve the quality and speed of pre-sale service to customers.
  • Implement project management processes.
  • Manage stakeholders across levels throughout technically complex projects.
  • Use project management tools and techniques, and identify risks and when a project is failing.
  • Identifying, source and manage people for all aspects of a project.


Required Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of Naval Engineer/Architect or Business Administration, Economics.
  • Significant previous relevant experience, preferably in Marine & Offshore environment with previous exposure in dealing with German government organizations.
  • Experience in managing projects and ensure they are in accordance with quality system requirements, cost structures and budgetary/contractual requirements.
  • Proven previous leadership experience in directing colleagues to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong team spirit. Excellent professional people skills to improve performance across the area of business.
  • Thorough understanding of the shipping market and marine environment to manage technical relevant projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels – both inside our organisation and outside in the business.
  • Ability and understanding to participate, communicate, positively contribute and add value in marine & offshore supply chain and technical discussions with clients and LR colleagues alike.
  • Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.
  • Ability to build relationships and pro-actively drive development of a network of key relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent command (written and oral) in English language using relevant professional terminology.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft products including excel, word and power point and the use of CRM systems.


Preferred but not required:

  • Previous experience in a classification society and background in ship / offshore classification & certification is highly preferred.
  • MSP or Prince 2 Practitioner accreditation and/or or APM/PMI qualifications is considered an asset.

  • Excellent professional people skills to improve performance across the area of business.
  • Displays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment and ability to work both independently and as part of a team with colleagues in person and around the world.
  • Is customer focused and driven to achieve excellent customer service.
