The Rotterdam Technical Support Office is a major plan appraisal centre covering the needs of the clients not only locally but also abroad with ships being constructed worldwide. Our activities are characterized by a great diversity in terms of projects and types of ships (Yachts, Tugs, Cargo Ships,  Inland Waterway Ships as well as Dredgers, Pipe-laying ships, Semi-submersibles, SPS ships, Catamarans and Fast patrol crafts, etc).

Our objective is to provide our clients with the best possible service and hence maximise the added value for our clients. The Rotterdam Technical Support Office is active in the fields of Structures, Engineering, Electrical and Control Engineering, Fire & Safety and Stability.

 

Whatare you going to do?

In this varied role you will be responsible for the design appraisal (and in some cases also consultancy) of Fire Safety Systems to various Statutory Codes, Lloyd’s Register Rules & Regulations and International/National Standards.The work is office based but you will occasionally have the opportunity for local traveling to shipyards and you might be requested to take part in negotiations or meetings with shipyards, flag administration and kick-off meetings with clients. You will work in close cooperation with your other ‘ Fire & Safety’  colleagues.

 

What do you need?

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme).
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, LSA, FSS Code)
  • The above job description does not preclude the assignment of other duties by the office manager.
