Wat ga je doen;

 

Als surveyor voert u zelfstandig inspecties uit aan zowel nieuwbouw als bestaande schepen op naleving van Lloyd's Register Rules and Regulations en geldende wettelijke voorschriften. De inspecties hebben betrekking op veiligheid, milieu, machinebouw en scheepsbouw. Het is een veelzijdige en afwisselende baan en je bent vaak het eerste aanspreekpunt tussen scheepseigenaren, scheepswerven en onderdelenleveranciers. Je werkt projectmatig op nieuwbouwprojecten en ad-hoc voor bestaande schepen. Flexibiliteit is vereist en daarom is er ruimte om je eigen tijd in te delen. Ondanks je zelfstandigheid maak je deel uit van een team van specialisten die er voor elkaar zijn. Je helpt elkaar met technisch advies en expertise; je leert van elkaar.

 

Wat zoeken wij:

 

  • Bachelor/Master, HBO/HTS elektrotechniek, werktuigbouwkunde, scheepsbouwkunde of hogere zeevaartschool
  • Andere kwalificaties/ervaring kunnen van geval tot geval worden overwogen
  • Praktijkervaring met betrekking tot de binnenvaart/zeevaart; bij voorkeur minimaal 5 jaar ervaring met inspectiewerkzaamheden in de binnenvaart
  • Kennis van ADN/ESTRIN is een pre.
  • Communicatief vaardig, klantgericht, analytisch, eerlijk, verantwoordelijk, zelfstandig, flexibel
  • Goede beheersing van de nederlandse en engelse taal is noodzakelijk. Kennis van de Duitse taal is een pre.

To strengthen the Marine & Offshore department, Lloyd's Register is looking for a colleague in the following role.

What you’ll do:

As a surveyor, you will independently conduct inspections of both new and existing ships to verify compliance with Lloyd's Register Rules and Regulations and relevant legal requirements. These inspections cover areas such as safety, environment, mechanical engineering, and shipbuilding. This role is dynamic and diverse; you’ll often be the primary point of contact between shipowners, shipyards, and component suppliers. You’ll work on new construction projects in a project-based manner and handle ad-hoc inspections for existing vessels. Flexibility is key, and there is room for managing your own time. Though you’ll work independently, you’ll be part of a team of specialists who support each other with technical advice and expertise, providing opportunities to learn from one another.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree, HBO/HTS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture, or advanced maritime college.
  • Other qualifications/experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Practical experience in inland or maritime shipping; preferably at least 5 years of inspection experience in inland shipping.
  • Knowledge of ADN/ESTRIN is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, customer-oriented, analytical, honest, responsible, independent, flexible.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English is required. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
