Senior Machinery Specialist/Surveyor – Marine & Offshore

What we are looking for: 

As a senior machinery surveyor in Lloyd’s Register China’s Technical Performance Group, you will be responsible for helping to solve complex problems with machinery.  You will assist shipyards and Lloyd's Register (LR) marine surveyors to ensure compliance with LR Rules, particularly with Machinery.  You will help maintain LR’s technical standards by assisting the surveyors with audits of shipyard’s Machinery facilities and working practices and offering practical advice to improve their manufacturing/assembly/installation capability.  You will also assist with training and delivery of machinery related activities to ensure appropriate levels of technical competencies.  You will also provide advice on routine technical queries as they arise.

The Role: 

1. To provide sound technical advice to solve technical issues which arise with machinery equipment

2. To undertake technical audits of shipyards and manufacturers to ensure compliance with LR Rule requirements and relevant technical standards

3.To accompany surveyors on shipyard patrolling activities to ensure activities relevant to machinery installation are in accordance with best practice/LR Rules and relevant standards

4.To provide machinery training

5.To assist the surveyors with routine technical queries and interpretation of the Rules relating to machinery

6.To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of up-to-date industry knowledge and awareness to adhere to the complaints process, effectively manage workload and achieve individual KPIs.

3. Seek professional registration for example CEng
