We are looking for a professional who can deliver effective technical and commercial services, assessing the design, production, and in-service performance of engineering assets. The ideal candidate will apply established procedures, technical knowledge, and sound engineering judgement to support routine assessments while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and customer service.

A full-time permanent role

The role

• Deliver technical services and specialist advice within agreed budgets, timelines, and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality technical outputs in the required format and to agreed standards.
• Present findings and recommendations to internal and external clients and propose practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, accreditation requirements, legislation, and industry standards.
• Support project planning by assessing effort, scope, and cost requirements for client work.
• Contribute to service delivery improvements through client feedback and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to colleagues and support effective knowledge transfer.
• Maintain required authorisations, certifications, and professional skills.
• Complete administrative activities in accordance with established processes and procedures.
• Promote and maintain a robust health, safety, and risk management culture.

What you bring

• Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent marine/nautical qualifications with relevant seagoing experience.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or active progress towards professional registration.
• Ability to apply engineering principles, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to solve technical challenges.
• Experience designing, developing, constructing, operating, or maintaining engineering systems, products, or services.
• Knowledge of project management, process management, and commercial delivery principles.
• Solid technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the Lloyd’s Register Code of Ethics.
• Well-developed English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Emphasis on quality, safety, and customer service.
