The role will involve carrying out consultancy services in the broad areas of electrotechnology and cyber security. This work will involve engaging clients to investigate their challenges; defining, costing, and proposing scopes of work; executing project work; and taking accountability for timely and quality delivery. The position calls for effective communication and a deep understanding of technical topics. Project scopes often vary greatly and require custom solutions, so agile and creative thinking are essential.

While this role is primarily desktop-based, travel to support our international customers in shore-side/ship-board visits may be necessary at times.

The role

As a member of our Asset Management team, execute consultancy projects ensuring they are in accordance with quality system requirements, cost structures and budgetary / contractual requirements. This could involve consultancy work supporting our clients with their challenges in the following technical areas:

• • Marine electrotechnical systems
  • Marine cyber security (including against IACS UR E26 & E27)

• Develop technical proposals for clients, including estimated costs and timescales for delivery.
• Expand on or develop business opportunities to offer clients and where necessary present / promote these internally and externally.
• Establish, develop and maintain long-term client relationships, using feedback to continually develop our services, processes / procedures and deliverables.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
• Support the development of others within the organization through coaching and effective knowledge transfer.

What you bring

• In-depth working experience in marine electrical, electronic and automation systems, including their design, integration, testing and assurance.
• In-depth working experience in cyber security, with a focus on marine Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), network architectures and cyber resilience for maritime applications. Experience in cyber risk assessments, threat modelling, and security architecture reviews is beneficial.
• Experience with remote monitoring systems, cloud connected systems, vessel performance platforms and data assurance
• Good understanding of maritime classification, statutory requirements, certification processes and assurance activities, with the ability to interpret and apply classification rules to emerging technologies, including autonomous and remotely operated systems.
• Customer focused, proactive and highly motivated to support clients, by meeting their deadlines and regularly updating them on progress
• Highly effective at working with teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and building positive connections across multidisciplinary groups.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in the English language, with the ability to produce comprehensive and detailed written reports.
• Drive for continuous learning and personal improvement

Nice to have

• Experience in Marine, Oil and Gas or Energy Sectors.
• Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP; IEC 62443-based programs).
• Project management experience, including planning, resource coordination, risk management and delivery of complex technical projects.
• Knowledge of maritime autonomy, digital systems, functional safety, software assurance and related classification frameworks would be beneficial.
